Location
University College Dublin (UCD) Belfield Campus
The 3rd CIRP International Conference on High Performance Cutting 2008 will be held on the main campus of University College Dublin. The main campus of University College Dublin is situated at Belfield, a 132 hectare site 4 km south of the centre of Dublin city. This campus is an attractively landscaped complex of modern architectural buildings, accommodating most of the Colleges and Schools of the University as well as its student residences and numerous leisure and sporting facilities. Other University buildings include Earlsfort Terrace, adjacent to St Stephen's Green in the city centre. |

Transport to UCD
Dublin is served by one airport - Dublin International Airport, on the city's North Side. There are frequent connecting buses to the city centre, inlcuding a special shuttle service which brings passengers directly to Busáras (Central Bus Station, Amiens St.).
Aircoach operate a service to Leopardstown/Sandyford/Stillorgan which passes UCD to and from Dublin Airport. Further details available at http://www.aircoach.ie

Trinity College Dublin (TCD)
The Banquet Dinner will take place in The Dining Hall in Trinity College Dublin. Trinity College Dublin is situated on a self-contained site in the heart of Dublin city centre, the College ground covers in excess of 40 acres of cobbled squares and green spaces, around buildings which represent the accumulated architectural riches of nearly three centuries. The Dining Hall was originally designed by Richard Castle but after its collapse (on two separate occasions) the building was rebuilt by Hugh Darley in c.1760. The exterior is Ionic in style, the finest part of its interior is the staircase and the Common Room. The Banqueting staff look forward to hosting the CIRP High Performance Cutting Conference attendees and accompanying persons. Transport from UCD to the Trinity College Dining Hall will be arranged by the Conference Secretariat leaving UCD at 19.00 on Thursday 12th June. |
